
Respite Care
Respite care is the temporary
or emergency care of an individual with disabilities for the purpose
of assisting the family or caregiver. It allows the family time to
take care of their own needs with the knowledge that their loved one
is being cared for by a qualified and caring respite provider.
Respite care is available to
children and to adults whose disabilities developed before the age
of 21 years.
There are no fees for
respite services.
The following services are
available:
Respite care in the home
of a fully-trained provider.
Respite care in the home
of the child/adult with disabilities.
Day Habilitation - day
activities for adults with developmental delays. Activities
include swimming, bowling, aerobics, field trips, pre-vocational
skill activities and volunteer work. *Participants must be on
the Developmental Disabilities (DD) waiver.. All activities
will be included on the Individual Service Plan.
Center-based adult
respite care program...Tuesdays & Thursdays
*Bus transportation for some
programs.
